Forecasts - Best case

External Posted: 2011-04-05 10:04

 Hi

I'm uploading our sales forecasts for the new financial year. We have Closed Won as commit and two stages for Best Case. The values for Best Case don't come through and affect the percentages for Best Case & Committed Revenue %. Have I done something wrong, or do they not pull through?

Thanks!

Hello,

It sounds like the Opportunity Stages aren't mapped correctly.  This page of our Knowledge Base should help - Opportunity Stages.

Let us know how you get on please.

Thanks,

Support

 Hi

They are mapped. I have 3 stages at Best Case and 1 at Commit and this what I don't understand as I would think they would pull through.

Ok, so they are showing now because I recreated the forecasts. Why do I need to that each time something changes?

Good to hear you've got it working.   Thanks for the update.

Forecasts need to be recreated for changes to be reflected.  The data is updated statically, not dynamically, which means you can recreate the forecast at will and see how the figures have changed over time on the History tab.

Is there any way to make this dynamic?

Not realising it was static, I set up a years worth of monthly forecasts for each member of the sales team and then drove a report of this to create a dashboard, for my Sales director to easily see the necessary breakdowns and a graphical representation.

This however is pretty useless if I have to go into every forecast everytime an opportunity is added or updated and recreate it, before the information can be reported on.

It would be good if there was the functionality to make this dynamic and just update the history as and when any changes occur...does this exist?

Kind regards

Ben
