Grouping Customers for Email Lists etc

External Posted: 2012-11-22 10:59

I don't quite know where to post this request, but I am hoping someone will be able to advise on a suitable approach for us.

We use Workbooks to manage our clients. One of the services we offer is web hosting.

Their hosting could be on mutiple servers and we would like to be able to quickly search for these records to allow us to contact them.

We would like to know:

  • The best way of storing that information in Workbooks
  • How we can quickly generate a new email to them

I am sure this could be applied to many other companies, and services, so I'd love to know what you'd recommend.

Many thanks

Keith

Hi Keith

It sounds like you need to create custom fields to hold the data about your web hosting services. You could create checkboxes that represent the different servers that you use for the hosting or it may be better to create a multi-select picklist so that all the data is held in one field.

As long as you've captured the data in Workbooks it's then quite simple to report on it so that you can create a Mailing List or add the appropriate customers to a Marketing Campaign so that you can send out a personalised mailshot.

Hopefully that helps point you in the right direction.
