Creating a Nominal Code Custom Field on Products and Invoice Line Items

If you wish to use the SageLink integration you are required to store the nominal code for each product. For the integration to work correctly you are required to configure Workbooks so that the nominal code is pulled through onto the Invoice Line Item should it be selected.

It is possible to create the customisation required yourself by creating a custom field on the Product Record. To do this go to Start > Configuration > Customisation > Record Types > Products > Custom Fields > Create a new custom field call 'Nominal Code' > Then save and close the Record.

You then need to create Custom Line Item Field for Invoices. To do this go to Start > Configuration > Customisation > Record Types > Customer Invoices > Line Item Custom Fields > Create a new custom field call 'Nominal Code' > Then save and close the Record.

It is important when setting this up that the two fields have exactly the same name otherwise the Nominal Code on the Product won't be pulled through onto the Invoice Line Item.

Once you have done this if everything is correct you should be able to enter a Nominal Code for a given Product, create an Invoice which contains this Product and the Nominal Code be pulled through onto the Invoice.

NOTE: You may need to amend your Form Layouts so that these fields show correctly.
