Formatting dates in reports

Workbooks Support Posted: 2013-09-20 08:42

Workbooks makes it easy to format dates in different ways. To do this, when adding a date column, click on the Advanced tab, which will show a screen similar to the one below. (Click to enlarge.) The 'Display as' field will show 'default' but use the arrow to reveal other options and select date. This opens another field called 'Date format', where you can choose the option you'd like to be displayed:

NOTE: If you format a date in the Details view that you then display in a Summary view, you will not then be able to change the format. Best practice would be to leave the date unformatted in the Details view and apply formatting within the Summary view. In this way, it's easy to show the same column of information in different formats in each Summary, if required.
