Sort reports by multiple columns?

External Posted: 2012-01-16 20:21

I would like to sort reports by a few different columns, rather than just choosing one column to sort ascending or descending. In other words, I'd like a list like this, where the list is sorted by item asc, size asc:

Item   Size   Count

101     1         300

101     2         250

102     1         150

Is there a way to do this, other than by exporting to Excel, etc.?

Thanks!

Hi,

At the moment reports can only be sorted by one column. One way around this would be to create a calculated column which concatenated a number of fields which you could then sort by.

That's a good work-around - I'll give it a try.

Thanks,

Reports can only be sorted by one column by default.  However, this can be worked around by creating a calculated column using the CONCAT function.  Concatenate the fields you wish to sort by into a single string, then click the column header to sort by the calculated column.  You can also use the Advanced tab on other report columns to Sort by the Calculated Column.
