Free Edition Licensing - General Questions

Workbooks Support Posted: 2011-09-12 08:37

Workbooks.com provides a free Edition for up to 2 users.  You can sign-up for a free license on our website.

When you first subscribe to the Free Edition, you will be given an account which is licensed for 31 days.  After day 2 you will be prompted to renew your license or upgrade to a full edition.

You can renew your free license using the renewal wizard at any point and this will re-license your account for a further 90 days.  After which you will be prompted to renew every 90 days.

 Hi!

so we can renew every 90 days as long as we want without upgrading?

what happens if we don't renew after the expiration date? are all our data erased or just disabled?

if it is disabled, is there a limited time during which we can rene again?

Regards,

Auguste

 @Auguste

Yes you can.

We will retain your data for at least 90 days past the expiration date and we commit to delete it before 180 days after the account has lapsed. If you renew before the 90 days limit your data will still be there.

if it is disabled, is there a limited time during which we can renew again?

It's 90 days.

Hi,

I am using your brilliant free edition to convince my boss that this is an absolutely essential system for us. We are a small company with only 5 staff, working from 4 different locations, so the web-hosting is ideal. I fully anticipate upgrading to a full edition within a couple of months once I've been able to demonstrate its value to us.

In the meantime, I am aware that our free edition Workbooks database has already overtaken our old systems and contains more data than our back-up systems (because it is just so much easier to use!).

Is there any reassurance you can give me as to the security of our data whilst we are working with the free edition? I guess that with the full edition, the Ts & Cs cover things like what happens to data in the event that Workbooks ceasing trading, availability guarantees etc. Is there any degree to which these arrangements cover the free edition?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

All the same commitments we make regarding data protection, service integrity and security apply equally to all of the editions of Workbooks; when you signup for the Free Edition you accept and we commit to our terms and conditions. In particular these include statements on Customer Data and Data Protection and a commitment to service availability. We take data security very seriously, store your data in the EU and we maintain multiple copies of this data in multiple locations.

If you ever need to export all your data from the system we've built a comprehensive export tool. We're proud of our service delivery and make every effort to keep the service available without interruption.

I hope this answers your question.
