Using Linked fields to auto-populate custom fields

If you are looking to pull information onto a Person record from the Employer record you can make use of the auto-populating linked fields. This saves you having to build reports and creating Dynamic Linked Items.

As an example, we will look at how we can pull the Employer's Industry onto a Person record.

Firstly, create a field on the Person record so that there's somewhere to put the value that's going to be brought through from the Employer's record.

Next, open the Employer Linked field (within Person Customisation) and use the Employer's Industry value to map to the Industry field on the Person record.

 

Save & Close all customisation panels.  When you next create a person record and select an Employer the Industry will auto-populate!
