Mandatory fields

Is there a way to make standard record fields mandatory? We want to enforce 'Source' as a mandatory field. I know I can edit the picklist, but I can't see any way to make it mandatory, potentially I'd like 'Type' to be mandatory as well.

Hello,

Unfortunately not at the moment. However, we are currently scoping the Custom Page Layouts idea on our Enhancements & Suggestions Forum, and adding the ability to make default fields mandatory is part of that work.

Please add your vote and comments to the idea so that you're notified when the idea moves forward, and is implemented.

I too have the need to make some fields mandatory (in addition to the ones I already have). I'd assumed this would be an easy one

Hi Alex,

You can make the standard fields mandatory on Form Layout level:

You will need to open the Form Layout for the Record Type
Open the field up
Check the Required checkbox
