Can you move a field from one record type to another?

I have created a customer field in the Organisation record when i should have added it to the Sales Lead record and created a connection so that it would appear in the Organisation record. There is now data in this field and i would have liked to have been able to move the field across to the sales lead without losing the data. Can i do this? |

Hi Margaret, Unfortunately there is not a way directly copy a populated field from one form layout level to another, however as a work around you could export this field and then import this on the Sales Lead record type. Note that you would need to create a blank field on the Sales lead record type first before doing so however. We have some great articles on our forum that explain how do imports and exports.
