Introduction to Preferences

Preferences allow you to personalise your Workbooks experience. From appearance and desktop behaviour to notifications and telephony settings, Preferences help you tailor Workbooks to suit the way you work.

NOTE:

1. Take the time to set up your Preferences before you start using Workbooks. You can always modify the settings later.

2. Some preference settings may be controlled by your System Administrator. If a setting cannot be modified, contact your administrator for assistance.

Within Preferences you can:

  • Customise the look and feel of Workbooks by adjusting:
    • Theme
    • Taskbar Position
    • Control how taskbar icons render
    • Amend how the Save button is displayed e.g. Combined, defaulting to Save
    • Should all the buttons on a Form be shown or would you like Workbooks to group them for you
    • Similar to Form Butttons, should all the tabs on a Record show or would you like to show first 4 and collapse others
    • Desktop Shortcut Layout e.g. horizontal or vertical
    • Select custom Wallpaper
  • Configure Accessbility setting by apply different Color Schemes for Desktop and Layouts, sizing and spacing of text and also enabling enhance focus when navigating
  • Upload a Profile Picture.
  • Nominate a default Own Organisation or Default Transaction Currency.
  • Choose how many rows of data to display on grid views such as Landing Pages and Reports.
  • Specify how many Recent Items to keep.
  • Format the Desktop Interface to control how many windows you can have open at any one time.
  • Automatically snap desktop windows.
  • Control which system shortcuts show on desktop.
  • Set up telephony integration with your RingCentral license
  • Configure your Notifications and Reminders so that they default to working the way that you prefer.
  • Choose a Default Language if you have the Multi Language extension.
  • Set the appropriate Timezone for the geographic region in which you operate and the format of the date/time, e.g. DD/MM/YY.
  • Switch the date format between British (24hr), American (12hr), International (24hr) or Custom.
  • Control the visibility of Welcome Messages.
  • Control the ‘Quick Search’ functionality.
  • Choose to allow Workbooks to automatically populate the Country on a record with the Country of your Own Organisation.
  • Change your Password.
  • Create API keys to allow you to integrate Workbooks with external systems.
  • Control your Pinned Windows.
  • Control your Email connection.
  • Set one or more Email Signatures, which can be applied to emails sent from within Workbooks.
  • Configure Workbooks to store emails sent from an external email client by setting up your Dropbox.
  • Check on your Workbooks Exchange Server Sync settings and synchronisations or any additional integration that requires authentication at an User level e.g. DocuSign.
  • Set Working and Break Times

 

These Preferences can also be controlled by the System Admin in Configuration > Preferences
