Workbooks AI Tools

Tools enable Workbooks AI to perform actions within the system. The AI uses these Tools to interact with Workbooks, allowing it to complete defined tasks such as creating records, opening emails, or running reports.

Some Tools, including “search”, “list reports”, and “run report”, are built-in, while others are published by Workbooks for all customers. You can also create your own Tools using the Workbooks process engine, allowing the AI to perform additional, customised actions. Each Tool should carry out a task that is simple to describe and should accept a set of well-defined parameters.

Examples of Tools

  • draft_and_open_email
  • open_record

These actions are powered by scripts, which can be found under:

  • Start > Configuration > Workbooks AI > Tools
  • or
  • Start > Configuration > Automation > Processes > Tool Processes

To make a script available as a Tool, assign it the category “Workbooks AI”. You can do this by navigating to Start > Configuration > Automation > Scripts and adding the Workbooks AI category to any script you wish to include.
