Restricting Page Tracking

GatorLeads is designed to help generate your sales pipeline by tracking visitor activity on your website. However, not all pages are relevant for tracking particularly those intended for existing customers, such as login or support pages. By limiting the pages that are tracked by GatorLeads you reduce the number of Online Activities that will come into Workbooks, ensuring that Workbooks captures only meaningful activity

Why Restrict Page Tracking?

– Focus on high-value pages such as landing pages and product pages
– Exclude customer-only pages such as login or support areas
– Reduce unnecessary Online Activities in Workbooks
– Optimise tracking usage by focusing on relevant page views

Additionally by only tracking pages that are of most importance you reduce the number of views tracked by GatorLeads making it a smaller investment in improving your sales pipeline.

In order to achieve this you will need to apply the Tracking Code in a different way. When applying the Organisation Tracking Code to your website, rather than adding this directly in the page header, you will need to apply it in to each page individually. This will require input from your web team in order for them to put the code onto the page correctly.

Best Practice
– Track marketing and conversion-focused pages only
– Exclude customer or internal-use pages
– Maintain a list of tracked pages
– Review tracked pages periodically

NOTE: If you are tracking a large number of webpages and are using an external web agency you may need to weigh up the cost of having them put the code on each individual page, as this could be very time consuming.
