Displaying & Adding Organizations
Clicking on Start > Organizations displays the Organizations Landing Page.
By default, the Organizations Landing Page gives you a choice of views, including:
- My Organizations – a subset of the All Organizations view showing a list of those Organization records that are either assigned to you or that you’re Watching.
- All Organizations – all the Organization records on your database.
- Customers – all the Organizations on your database that have been classified as customers of your Own Organization.
- Prospects – all the Organizations on your database that have been classified as prospects of your Own Organization.
- Suppliers – all the Organizations on your database that have been classified as suppliers to your Own Organization.
- Partners – all the Organizations on your database that have been classified as partners of your Own Organization.
- Competitors – all the Organizations on your database that have been classified as competitors of your Own Organization.
You can customize the appearance of this (and any other) Landing Page including grouping, filtering and saving views. For more information on customizing views click here.
Adding Organizations
You can add new Organization records individually or import them in bulk. Workbooks can import data from CSV (comma separated value) format files, which is a very common file format when transferring data.
Tip
Always search the database before adding new records to avoid duplications.
To create an individual Organization record, either:
- Click Start > Organizations > New Organization; or:
- Click Start > New > Organization.
Either option will bring up the new Organization data form for completion.
Complete the form and when you’ve finished click Save & Close. This record now forms part of your database and will appear in the My Organizations and/or All Organizations view (depending on whether or not you have chosen to Watch the record).
