Adding a Report view to a Dashboard

Once you have run a Report you can add it to a Dashboard of your choice from the Actions Menu. This allows you to add a Report View quickly without the need for editing the Dashboard and manually adding it to the Layout.

Remember: Reports added to a Dashboard are visible to the Users with whom the Dashboard has been shared even if the User hasn’t been given explicit permission to access the Report. However, if the underlying Report hasn’t been shared with the User, they won’t be able to drill into the detail from the Dashboard.

Within the Actions Menu on all Reports you will see to the option to Add to a Dashboard.

Selecting this Action will open a new window where you can select the Dashboard you would like to add the Report View to as well as the Title of the Dashboard Item you would like to give it. By Default the Title will be “Report name: View name”.

Once you have selected the Dashboard and made any changes to the Title, you can select the Add or Add & Open buttons. Selecting Add will close the window and return you to your Report view, whereas selecting Add & Open will open the Dashboard and let you see the Report placed within the Dashboard.

Note: By default this will always be added to the top of the left hand column of the Dashboard.
